    THE STORY SO FAR:

This story begins in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, on a warm late afternoon at a bustling annual park fair. Food stalls, carnival rides, and booths from local companies fill the grounds, along with clowns and various attractions. Amid the fair’s lively atmosphere, Steve, a young analytics programmer, sits apart on a grassy patch, leaning against a tree. He’s feeling dazed and confused, unsure of why he’s even here. This blank feeling isn’t new for him, but today it seems worse.

Suddenly, he notices a pair of combat boots right in front of him. Following the boots upward, he sees a pair of wild, zipper-covered pants, then a smirking face framed by a spiky mohawk. “Well, well, who do we have here?” the punk sneers. “Got a dollar?” He laughs and nods toward two other guys, dressed similarly in punk attire, who join in with mocking laughter. Steve, still disoriented, tries to get up and throw a punch, but he misses badly, stumbling forward. The punks laugh even harder. “Look at him! Pathetic,” one sneers before grabbing Steve by the shoulders while another lands a solid punch in his stomach. People around them pull out their phones to record, but no one steps in to help.

Vladmir, a Russian immigrant working that night as a clown for a major pharmaceutical company, notices the trouble and starts heading toward the scene. Not fully used to the costume, compared to his usual internal security attire, more of the scene reveals in front of him. At the same time, James, an event medic, intervenes, throwing a punch at one of the punks, who shakes it off almost instantly. The scuffle escalates: while one punk stays with the now badly bruised Steve, the other two chase after James. One pulls out a switchblade, threatening, “I’ll give you a permanent smile!” The crowd shrieks and scrambles, but one onlooker, Lee, a martial artist, springs into action. Without hesitation, he takes down very hard and fast one of the punks. The other punk manages to stab James in the arm before being struck from behind by a garbage bin thrown by Oliver, another bystander.

Lee then turns to face the remaining punk, who quickly decides it’s best to flee, disappearing into the dispersing crowd. Although the medic calls for backup, there’s little time to catch their breath. A commotion draws their attention to the main park walkway, about 200 meters away, where a figure is holding someone aloft and clutching a child with his other arm. The person screams and struggles, signaling this is no performance.

Steve’s rescuers rush toward the scene, stopping at a safe distance. They watch in horror as the attacker—a tall pale man with strange, wild eyes—throws his captive to the ground, exposing a brutal gut wound. The child clutched in his grasp cries, “Mama! Mama!” Unable to hold back, Lee charges forward, launching a powerful jump kick at the crazed attacker. The man stumbles from the impact, releasing the child, whom Oliver quickly shepherds to safety. Realizing the man’s unnatural strength and resilence, they decide to retreat, carrying the unconscious mother to safety.

As they make their way back, they hear the man’s guttural moans growing fainter. People are frantically leaving the park; security personnel are occupied elsewhere, as James hears over the event radio. This newly-formed group heads toward the nearby parking lot, hoping to escape as others already have. Chaos fills the lot, with cars crashed and blocked in the rush to leave.

The group heads to their vehicles, only to find carjackers trying to steal their ride. A brief fight ensues, but they manage to subdue the thieves. Elsewhere in the parking lot, a split-off group finds an abandoned ambulance. Grabbing emergency medical kits, they attempt to help the injured mother, but it’s too late; she’s already lost too much blood and tthe wounds were to severe. Steve comforts the child, convincing her to come along as they load the mother’s body onto the back of a pickup of the again united group. They finally navigate their way onto an open road, only to find chaos unfolding across the city. Sirens blare everywhere, cell networks are jammed, and emergency lines are overwhelmed. Something weird is going on at this night.

Heading toward Vladmir’s house, the group decides to stop first at Lee’s gym to let him change out of his half-finished clown costume. But while in the gym shower, he suddenly hears a faint shuffling sound. To his horror, Shelly, the receptionist, stumbles in—her clothes torn, face pale, and a pair of scissors embedded in her abdomen. She was a really pretty woman, but what presents now is only a shadow of her past. Despite the wound, she lurches toward him. Panicked, Lee dodges her and bumps into the lockers. With a hard kick he smashed her into on of the lockers and bolts half-naked back into the street, jumping onto the truck. “Go, go, go!” he yells.

As they drive through darkened, partially deserted streets, they see fires burning in the distance. Radio broadcasts speculate wildly about the cause of this madness—some blame a chemical terrorist attack, others a government lab leak who turns people to brainless frenzies, while a few suggest alien mind control following a recent meteor shower. No one seems to know the truth, and the government urges people to stay indoors and wait for further instructions.

At Vladmir’s house, which is secure with alarms and surveillance, the group takes a moment to gather their thoughts. Vlad, a former security officer, has a well-stocked basement, complete with radio equipment. Over the next five days, they stay in this refuge, listening to disturbing reports that confirm the crisis has spread across the United States—and perhaps even globally. The occasional sound of gunfire, cries, and sirens punctuate the tense silence outside. One evening, a desperate couple approaches to break in, but with no success they were pleading for food. The group shares some supplies before sending them on their way.

On the fifth day, some of the group venture to a nearby grocery store for supplies, because the want to stock up their reserves. Inside, they find it partly looted, with a few infected wandering the aisles. In the back room, they discover a clown named Bozo, hiding from the crazies. They rescue him, and he joins their group, speaking fondly of his idol Sparky the Dog and sharing stories in his Spanish-accented English. However, during the outing, Steve mysteriously wanders off and disappears, despite the group’s efforts to search for him.

During another supply run, they take in a pretty, mysterious woman named Cindara, a nurse fleeing from a vengeful ex. Back at Vlad’s, he monitors the cameras and notices an increase in infected individuals approaching their subdivision and the surroundings. The creatures seem to respond to sound and are more active at night. As days go by, the group grows tense, and small conflicts arise. Bozo falls ill, possibly from food poisoning, and grows closer to Vlad’s home brew russian moonshine than the others.

The situation finally boils over when the infected break through the front gate, forcing their way toward the house. Alarms blare as windows shatter, and infected flood into the home. The group frantically defends themselves: Lee and Vlad fight back, Oliver struggles against a particularly vicious infected woman, and Cindara freezes in fear. During the scuffle, Oliver is bitten twice and accidentally shoots himself in the shoulder. He passes out but is saved by Lee and Vlad in the nick of time.

In a last-ditch effort, they escape through a bedroom window, climbing into Vlad’s pickup. With Lee at the wheel, they tear down the road, narrowly escaping the horde. Cindara, though rattled, manages to stabilize Oliver’s bleeding. They drive aimlessly, lost in the darkened streets filled with abandoned cars and distant fires. Suddenly, a floodlight blinds them as they approach a barricade manned by the National Guard. The guards order them out of the car at gunpoint, demanding they lie down on the pavement.

After a tense exchange, Vlad and the clown explain their situation and plead for help in their situation for their badly injured friend. The National Guard agrees to take them to a recently established rescue hospital and shelter run by FEMA, hoping it might be a safe haven in this unfolding nightmare.

    To be continued ….

KNOWLEDGE OF GROUP 1 ABOUT THE INFECTION:
    • The Meteorites of the “Event” spectacle contained a black goo substance
    • Noise of all kind attracts infected
    • Light, especially at night, attracts infected
    • Infected are stronger and more resilent then a regular human
    • Infected have unlimited stamina and are relentless
    • Infected don’t seem to feel pain or fear (exception is fire, they avoid it)
    • Infected don’t seem to remember what was before they were infected (with rare exceptions they show hints of repetetive recalls or important things they did before being infected)
    • Infected don’t show intelligence, but driven by the urge to hunt down un-infected.
    • Infected seem to go after certain people more than others. Why?
    • Inside of infected people have been seen mysterious animated black strings of the goo, reminding on ranks or roots of plants.
    • Infected are rarely seen to hunt down animals
    • People who get bitten don’t turn into infected (long term studies are still standing out). But people who got injuries from infected feel often unwell after a while and that condition holds on and can worsen with time. When this people are too long sick or even die, it is reported that they rise up again as infected with no clue about their past life.
